Chobani Oatmilk has disappeared from some dairy cases and now we know why.

We noticed several weeks ago that our favorite vegan milk, Chobani Extra Creamy, wasn’t available at our local Publix, and we’ve just learned that Chobani has confirmed that its entire ready-to-drink Oatmilk lineup is being phased out.

Plant-based grocery site Big Box Vegan confirmed the news directly with Chobani after asking about the missing products. The company responded, saying that most stores would have stopped ordering its Oatmilk by now, with whatever might still be on shelves representing the last of the current inventory.

Big Box Vegan reports that the discontinued lineup also includes Original, Vanilla and Zero Sugar, and that Chobani cited a lack of demand for the decision. The company has previously pulled back from other oat-based products as well, discontinuing its oatmilk coffee creamers a few years ago.

There’s also an unanswered question for fans of Chobani’s seasonal Oat Nog. Big Box Vegan asked the company whether the dairy-free holiday drink would return this year, but Chobani didn’t confirm its plans. With the rest of the Oatmilk lineup disappearing, it may be worth keeping an eye on the dairy case as the holidays get closer.

As for us, we often buy what’s on sale, but when there’s not a sale happening, we’re currently buying Planet Oat Extra Creamy and have found it to be a fine substitute. And if the Chobani Oat Nog doesn’t return this holiday season, we’ve enjoyed Silk’s Nog in the past. If like us, Chobani was your usual oatmilk too, it looks like it’s time to find a new favorite.
