Carvel is expanding its dairy-free options with a permanent lineup of soft serve, scooped frozen desserts, shakes and ice cream sandwiches. The new menu was created in partnership with plant-based frozen dessert company Klimon and is available at more than 300 Carvel locations nationwide.

The two companies spent more than a year developing and testing the products, aiming to deliver the creamy texture and familiar flavors customers expect from Carvel. The new dairy-free desserts aren’t seasonal or limited-time offerings; they’re supposedly here to stay.

  • The lineup includes six soft-serve flavors: strawberry, chocolate, mint, cold brew, peanut butter and pistachio.
  • Customers looking for scooped desserts have seven choices, including chocolate peanut butter ripple, Oreo Cookies & Cream and Mint Oreo, alongside strawberry, cold brew, peanut butter and pistachio.
  • The non-dairy shakes offer eight flavors, including chocolate peanut butter and Oreo Cookies & Cream.
  • Carvel’s Flying Saucers, its signature ice cream sandwiches, are also available in six non-dairy flavors.
  • More than 25 non-dairy toppings are available for additional customization.

Carvel says the expanded menu is intended to make the traditional ice cream shop experience accessible to more customers. It’s a pretty big expansion beyond the one or two dairy-free flavors sometimes available at conventional ice cream shops. It also gives customers several new ways to enjoy non-dairy frozen desserts, instead of being limited to a single scoop or packaged option.

The new products are available now nationwide, although individual flavors may vary by location.
