A new study suggests eating one avocado a day may help lower the risk of heart disease in adults with obesity, even without any weight loss. Researchers found daily avocado consumption was linked to fewer LDL particles, a type of “bad” cholesterol that can contribute to plaque buildup in the arteries, resulting in around a 4% reduction in heart disease risk. The researchers say the benefits were seen even though participants otherwise continued eating their normal diets.
